With my heart and mouth I again want to testify of Psalm 91 tonight.  This is what our family experienced:

On Sunday, 21 May 2017 (our wedding anniversary), we were on our way home from Pretoria after visiting my parents for the weekend.  My son and I followed behind my husband’s vehicle, in my pick-up (bakkie).

On the Moloto Road, (notorious for its numerous serious accidents), another vehicle suddenly moved into our lane.  My husband could swerve out of the way in time, but the other vehicle, traveling at high speed, collided with my vehicle on the its right-front side.  The impact caused our vehicle to roll over four times before it came to a halt.  My husband witnessed all of this in his rear-view mirror, not knowing what he would find as he came to our aid.

The damage to my vehicle is self-evident, but I can truly witness of God’s unbelievable goodness for sparing our lives!  My son and I both got out of the bakkie with only minor injuries – my son had a few scrapes on his leg from his car seat, and I had to get a few stitches in my foot.

My hart wants to burst with gratefulness towards God for keeping us safe, and ALL glory belongs to God who really commanded His angels to guard over us.

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowlera]
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honour him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”
